instynct 99 Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) Hi, I think this issue persists in Arma 3 and Arma 2 as well and I'm hoping it will be solved in DayZ. Basically the more objects being rendered on screen the less GPU usage. Please vote on the issue in the feedback tracker! http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=3356 Thanks! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ssjr36NKTE Edited December 23, 2013 by Andromeda
TIC 1050 Posted December 23, 2013 This is what is exactly happening to me as well.
beelzebossi@hotmail.com 28 Posted December 23, 2013 I think low gpu usage is normal for arma engine ;)

mjf6866 22 Posted December 23, 2013 How do we log into the feedback tracker? It doesn't recognize my username and pw for the forums. My fps when I hit the areas with the apartment complexes drops from 45-60 to 20-25 with everything on low-medium and it just takes me out of the immersion. Would love to see it fixed for the final product!

TIC 1050 Posted December 23, 2013 And to add onto this, this is probably something related to client side not being touched on optimizations.

Ozelot (DayZ) 394 Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) I've always wondered why the hell my gpu decided to turn into a jet engine out in the debug fields in DayZ, but once I go into cherno where my fps chugged like a hog, my fan was basically silent. Now I know why. Edited December 23, 2013 by Ozelot
St. Jimmy 1631 Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) The reason is that the server doesn't allow you to use all the CPU power to render those objects. I've exactley the same CPU usage (20-30%) everywhere in the map in Arma multiplayer and DayZ. The CPU usage would need to be more like 30-50% in the cities so the GPU usage would be fully utilized.
