F12, and it usually doesn't work the very first time you hit it (for me at least). you should hear a 'camera' sound, and see a Steam pop-up saying you took a screenshot

Really? My steam overlay is disabled in Dayz, I have to use fraps.

Mine works, but often in DayZ it's delayed. Weird.

well steam overlay does this but if you disabled it for fraps, well use fraps nothing better to say

it does it to me in every game. it works the second time, and ever time after that. but the first time I hit it, it does nothing. it's the same with shift-tab to open the overlay

could be that I use the Steam beta client, or something else...
