Melee weapons not hitting

Could just be my connection but for the third time ive swung a crowbar at a zombie and failed to hit it resulting in said zombie killing me. 

 

Anyone else getting this or any tips on how to not get it???

Be sure that you don't have the crowbar in the blocking position. Use "space" to switch between the two.

Also, the crowbar is shit. Takes several hits to get a zombie down. Try and find an axe ;)

I'm confused, I've had minimal problems with the system.

 

 

Make sure you're not holding said melee weapon infront of you in a "blocking" animation when you're swinging.

I've had no problems with the firefighter's axe, and a few little spazzy issues with other stuff, but all in all make sure you aren't "blocking" is probably the best advice.
