Drinking from ponds?

You can drink straight from the well things in towns by going up to them, but I do not think you can drink directly from ponds.

Its strange, I went over to a marshy pond-like area and i could drink in some places but not in others... Its also not possible to get an infection from it as far as im aware

You have to do quite a bit of searching to find the correct spot in which you can take a drink. Even then it isn't advisable due to the risk of sickness. Last resort only.

nvm apparently you can drink directly from pond by going into first person and looking at the water you will have the option to drink
 

* oh is there only certain places you can?
