Ragdolls and FPS?

Recommended Posts

I am getting about 40FPS in the Wilderness and 20FPS in the towns, not the best, but definetly better than the mod (About 10fps in the towns and 30fps in the wilderness)

There are things that just eat up 20FPS like Ambient Occlusion and Post-Process Effects for me.

But wouldn't the Ragdoll Physics fuck it up even more? Physics is really heavy in most games, wouldn't it be the same for DayZ?

Ambient Occlusion is a hog on my setup too, my fps jumps up about 15 when off.

I think Dean said in one of his streams that they haven't even got to optimizing client performance yet, so it should be running a lot smoother come retail release which may balance out physics and other stuff going on. It's not so much the physics for me regarding fps that I'm concerned about, more about the actual numbers of zombies in my perimeter choking up my fps once implemented. I really need to start saving for a new GPU and CPU cooler so I can overclock it lol!
