sexual_wombat 0 Posted December 21, 2013 I'm sure I am not the only person in this game or from vanilla DAYZ that has dealt with the irritating ALT-F4 exploit that people have always used to get out of being killed. Playing this game today, I experienced 3 alt-f4's or instant loggers who did said exploit to avoid being bashed in the head by my shovel. So my suggestion is to not only try to disable alt-f4 with this game but putting a logout timer when you people go to the menu and press exit. Something along the lines of 10-20 seconds. Gdaddy22 299 Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) I've got a better idea for preventing combat log, it's so simple. All we have to do is force everyone to wait like 10 seconds before logging out, no matter where or if you are in combat, you have to wait 10 seconds. creature 1189 Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) The problem here is you can get out of the game just as quick without alt/f4 or using the exit game system. There are other ways and people use them. A timer for properly leaving the game PLUS something like your character remaining in game if you leave by other means would certainly help. Even then it's hard to know if someone leaves a server because they wanted to, had a hardware/software issue, power outage, etc. Edited December 21, 2013 by creature
Subject42 20 Posted December 21, 2013 I guess something like this is already implemented, but in the SA currently disabled beause of early alpha status.
lukeyguy 17 Posted December 21, 2013 I think Dean aka Rocket said on twitter or on here can't remember. Tuesday they have another patch coming out where they have fixed loads of bugs and errors with the game and they are going to test a 30 seconds before you can logout of your account so people can't just dc.
