Owain1122 218 Posted December 21, 2013 To start off with I think some KOS is healthy, it definitely adds suspense. I've occasionally KOS'd when I need food and I'm literally starving but that was back in the mod. However I literally just witnessed the worse murder I have ever seen haha. I was looting the barracks west of stary Sobor I think at a military base and me and this guy bump in to each other, he's fully armed (m4) and so am I, the difference is I have an m4 but only 60 rounds of 7.62mm... He waves at me and carries on his merry way, quite surprising. 10 minutes later I run to the bigger building with cell in it. At this point I have my weapon holstered and I'm looting, a dude with a mosin pops up behind me, looks at me for at least 5 seconds, at which point I wave just to see if he's friendly or not and just shoots me? Now I love PvP and would hate it to go away but this is barely PVP. Can people explain to me what you get thrill wise from shooting unarmed players at 2 metres of distance? Owain1122 218 Posted December 21, 2013 You get the thrill of new gear. Yeah but at the moment, especially for me it seems, Bodies are disappearing in to the ground after you've killed them - I can see where you're coming from but this guy looked like had everything. Pvt Dolin 137 Posted December 21, 2013 The thrill is even greater when you dry them of blood by IVs and make them fistfight their friend to see who lives to be let go.And then drink coffee by a fire afterwards.
symptom 185 Posted December 21, 2013 Unfortunately, unless you're teamed up with someone in teamspeak or skype, this will happen. I watched 2 guys play together for well over an hour that had just met on a server. Don't know what happened betweent hem, but one killed the other. The reason I know, is cause one of them was in the same teamspeak as me. He was like "Wtf" that asshole shot me!!" It happens. In an apocalyptic word, you really can't trust anyone. My experience with other players is, if they seem hostile.....kill them. If not, say "hi" and keep moving. No need to make friends that will just stab you in the back.
Jackal304 0 Posted December 21, 2013 some ppl get scared/startled into shooting. some ppl dont want to take the chance of you shooting them'/backstabbing them in the back, some ppl are just immature douchebags, take your pick. ppl who play multiplayer survival games can be very duplicitous at times and the type ranges from some noob trying to rush you with his fists. to some guy waving at you yelling friendly and when the moment is right stab you in the back. i would love this game to promote teamwork rather than random killings but these types of ppl make me go extreme survivor mode which is kos especially if i have good gear. the only times i take the risk is if i have nothing to lose. or i know the person well enough either in real life or a good friend online otherwise your just inviting trouble. LouisK 85 Posted December 21, 2013 I am usually into the "EITHER YOU OR ME" thing right now. I don't like to KOS but it's the only way fair right now as the combat logging and all things are not implemented yet. Yersteday I was at balota after a fresh spawn and I got some ammo and an M4. A guy came unarmed and ran straight into me, in reflex I shot him, yet he wanted to raise up his hands. I felt sad but well, my mistake :P In the same place a few minutes later I was at the barracks and a guy with a M4 on his back approaches to me. I don't know why I didn't shoot but he raised his hands, left him go and we both followed our ways. However you can't trust anybody up in the north!
Harba 3 Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) How can you say unarmed when you just said you had a M4A1? Is the other person supposed to magically see into your invetory to notice you dont have ammo for it? If you are looting military item spawns you are fair game for anyone to shoot, that is my opinion. It is shoot or be shot in those areas with the gear that is laying around. Maybe in the future they raise the difficulty of zombies high enough to promote teamwork to get rid of them to reach that precious loot.
