Field Of View (FOV)

Recommended Posts

hey,

just wondering, what FOV settings are ppl using? did anyone notice any difference when it comes down to performance (fps) or maybe accuracy at shooting?

thanks

I usually use 3/4ths of the FOV bar

I am really glad they made it so easy to change it, not having to go through configs, finding out some random number based off your Resolution and Aspect ratio and put it in, then restart game.

I generally keep mine at 3/4 too. I can run full fine but I don't like the feel of it.

I use a really low FOV, like 1/10. I prefer the zoomed in sights on my weapon and seem to get a around 5 frames more on average. I know I have to turn my head a bit more than a higher FOV but i like it and the over the shoulder 3rd person looks really good to me

Low FOV=better zoom on scopes/iron sights. High FOV=better awareness of your surroundings.

Better to have a small disadvantage in fights than not notice a person that will kill you until it's to late, right?

Well tbh I've been trying to stay alive up north and haven't got into a fight yet so that's only part of why I like it, like I said 3rd person over the shoulder is an appealing look to me. I don't think I'm at a huge disadvantage losing a bit of extra peripheral vision. I'm also not big on the whole 3rd person around cover and with a closer FOV in 3rd it feels more immersive like 1st person but I am still aware of what my body is doing on screen.

I imagine a mid-high FOV is most common and I might end up going higher in the future but for now I'm liking it closer in.

about 80% of wide open...

i find in 3rd person the full slider makes the world have a weird almost bent view at the edges of my monitor.. its weird..

at about 80% i still my whole avatar, but my screen doesnt seem to twist at the edges.
