Where do I find water?

I have no idea where to find water, and my character is very thirsty. also how do I get to the airfield? I am in this big city with the burned out building.

Welcome to DayZ :) There are wells in many towns. You can also drink from ponds. Just watch out diseases.

I would say supermarkets, but that's where i have found my most drinks.

If you find a water bottle you can fill up in ponds, at water pump ( which dont need a bottle ) both of these water sources are unlimited,  and in supermarkets.

Also, if you find yourself at a pump or in a pond make sure to take about 5-6 more drinks after the thirst alert has gone, as it doesnt mean you're fully quenched :)
