What is even the point?

Recommended Posts

Okay so...

I was at the airfield with some stuff I had got over time, didn't have much, but had a decent amount and then the base get's stormed by a clan. So I follow everything they say, they hand cuffed me the lot and then they are like do what I say and your be okay, so I did. Then they shot me like *facepalm*...

With you subdued and harmless that does seem a bit tight, but everyone has their own moral compass...

In days gone by, you would have just been shot.

I suspect that subdued you to get the stuff off you in pristine condition in an attempt not to damage their loot.

don't get attached to your gear, you should have gone crazy and tried to kill as many as you could. It's all about the new experience, new stories and adventures after every death

Last night, after logging in and seeing all my gear disappeared and having to start anew, I bumped into 6 players who gave me a pistol and said merry Christmas. I picked up the pistol which had 1 clip, I emptied it out on all of them and these players were geared out the ass, then I said merry Christmas indeed down the mic

At least it was a quick relatively painless death, they could have force fed you disinfectant...

Or turned into their new blood mule.

Once they have sucked your blood dry then force feed you a rotten apple for a slow painful death. ;)                (Note i may or may not have performed this method on players)

Don't judge me :P

If you are at the coast don't comply because you can spawn near if you get lucky and run back. If you are far up north you may as well comply incase they let you go, saves you 1 hour of running if you are lucky. If it is one guy with a gun, you can one hit KO him with a FIRE axe, not a splitting axe.

this is why you never comply, if you kill even one of them you cause them more of a hastle than they do you

Yeah a lot of the time I play as a bandit to med to high geared players and I hold them up and take what gear I need and then send them on their travels without being a dick and killing making them start from scratch if possible but a super high traffic areas like NWAF I may not be so nice and might just KOS to be safe, not enough time to be thumbling around a dangerous place like that.

As a lone wolf player myself, I would shoot anyone that try's to tell me wtf to do.

Its a game not real life so it would be better then being spoke to like a piece of shit.

Plus u never know, u might squad wipe them which makes for good videos! :)

There's no way in hell ill let anyone cuff me.

Yea I have to agree here, I hate when these nerds get on the mic and want to feel all powerful, saying the dumbest shit. Maybe its my pride but I DONT get talked down to, not by anyone. To me that's worth the 1-2 hour hike back. Might not be very convenient of me, but its inconvenient to get shot all the time, yet "thats the way the game is".

As to shooting people after you've got them cuffed...thats just pathetic. If someones complied and you have some sick need to shoot them anyway? Even if it is a game, thats some sick shit.

Truthfully. Airfields are fair game for PvP.

Everything is fair game for pvp. This entire anti kos thing is pathetic too the idea that you could somehow encourage people to not shoot on sight is hilarious. People will always kill on sight no matter what.

It is if you are looking at it from a roleplay perspective. I think it would be fun getting kidnaped or something, it's part of the experience right now, but for the most part he is right. There is no real reason to stay alive now other than to keep the gear you have

*snip*

I could see how mine would come across that way lol. Although i am a male.....I've never backed down from a fight IRL, even if I wasnt sure I could win, hell even if I was sure I couldnt win. I certainly am not gonna let some breathy teenager tell me what to do, or some 40 year old. Call it pride call it stupidity, call it what you will. Ill stick to my guns.

Depends on if I know the clan already or not, most "clans" are just jackoff teenagers who don't know how to cuss and spam f bombs over direct and will kill you if you comply, IE was on a server last night when a bunch of people joined with QQ infront of their name, ran into 4 of them, killed 3 wounded the other to point of unconciousness when they tried to get me to come out of a house, dont try to clear a house with a mosin against a guy with an m4. But I digress point being with most clans being like the way OP described you are better off not complying than you are complying and just getting toyed with till they kill you

I play this as roleplaying game. Currently I'm roleplaying a doctor, and since I'm pretty geared and able to easily take care of myself, I go on patrols near the coast looking for fresh spawns or people who need help. When I find some one, unless I can tell that they're obviously friendly, ie, some guys talking to each other over direct, asking each other questions or what not, I'll hold them up. I tell them to stay still, and put their hands up, and face away from me. If they comply and have some weapons I can see that could be a threat I then tell them that they can keep all their gear, but I don't trust them so I'm gonna cuff em for a sec or to drop their weapons on the ground and step away. After that's done I'll check their gear and see how they're doing. I ask if they need food or water or if they're sick and if they've seen anyone else around. I treat them and help them out, give some advice if they ask for it, uncuff em and tell them they can get their gear back and be on their merry way. If at any point they refuse to comply, I shoot them.

It's quite fun, you see all kinds of crazy stuff. You meet some cool people, and there's always plenty of idiots willing to charge my party of armed and fully geared do-gooders with a fire extinguisher, or get themselves into an unfavorable gun fight that they're doomed to loose, just cause. I get to shoot the occasional player, have fun roleplaying with people, and be a shining beacon of hope for the DayZ community, hell even got to solve a murder and put the perpetrator to justice. Been doing it for a couple days and haven't died yet. I know i will eventually but it's all good fun, and that's what DayZ is all about. Playing your way and having fun.

And if that just so happens to be forcing people to surrender and then executing them, well good for you. I think it's freakin awesome that we can do that in the first place and even if I was the victim, it'd be an experience where I'd be like, "Wow that just freaking happened." I haven't been held up yet, but I would prolly go along with it for roleplay sake and since I think it's pretty cool.
