How do i know where i spawn?

at the mod, every time you were logged in you will get those little message on the left corner where you spawn, why i dont get it now? it is really anoying to find freinds like that and to just know where you are..

What I do is to use the area around me to figure it out. Look to see where I am in relation to the road in relation to the shore, in relation to the train tracks. Also, look for buildings and other objects.

 

Lastly, try to follow a road to the nearest place with buildings. There's usually a sign along the road that will tell you where you are.

Go find a town/city. Read the road sign and google it.

Just check out the nearest sign of any town and transcript it with your russianskillZ or the Wiki ;)

Learn to the read the signs throughout Chernarus.

Print that off and keep it in front of you while you play. If you have ArmA 2, go for a drive reading the signs out loud to yourself. You'll memorize it better this way and you'll be all set.

My friend and I got on yesterday; I knew where I was, he figured out where he was within 5 min. It took us about 15 min to meet up. It wasn't that difficult.

I dont know if this was just a coincidence or not.. but yesterday when my brother and I both were dead, 1 of us would join a server where he would respawn and then the other followed immediatly through steam. This caused us to spawn at the same spawn point 3 times in a row. I dont know if joining through steam helps, or the fact that we both respawn so quickly after another on the same server.

But it really helped us playing together.

 

when one of us was still alive and the other respawned in the same server it didnt work, only when both spawning fresh.

i'll try to test this more tonight and see if this was just a coincidence or not.

Im sorry that you have to learn to read a map and a few town names but if you didn't like it why did you buy the game in the first place? It is a survive based zombie game with almost no UI so why would you expect this game to pamper you with shiney little pointers a compass and a minimap to show you where your at at all the time?

 

God forbid you have to learn anything inside a game besides walk to a floating arrow telling you where to go.
