Possible bug: Is the sun pointing in the right direction?

So, on all the servers I've been it appears that the sun is not on the correct position, I tend to use it as a guide to know where the north, east, etc is, but after acquiring a compass I've noticed that the sun (at morning) seems to be at the south rather than the east.

 

The compass is ok because I was able to follow the map along with it, but the sun is unreliable.

 

Is this a server side bug or general?

The sun is broken, developers are aware.

Ah I thought I was loosing my mind with this, so it is fixed to the south. That explains a lot.
