maxotaur 135 Posted December 21, 2013 Am I one of a handful of players that has not encountered any reason to b**ch about on the current state of the game? I'll be honest and say that I convinced my 3 friends to buy this game and none of them has played it with me since the release day and I'm having a blast... even if it's lonely and very melancholy to have to travel 40 KM inland with nothing but a shovel for defence, but it feels nostalgic, like before i played the dayz mod.. back when i saw those videos of people playing it thinking, "wow this game looks so great i will buy ArmA II and OA TO PLAY THIS!!" Well, I am really loving it, the gun play is great, the zombies are creepy, however, the only thing i will say is, i am really sick of hearing the same old zombie groans from the mod, you know, the very high pitched 28 day later kind of screeches, give them real zombie sounds, like resident evil style and you'll have your players genuinely freaked out. keep up the good work DEVs Sincerely, A satisfied customer.
Diggydug (DayZ) 331 Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) I've found issues, but I find no reason to bitch considering it's alpha. Sometimes loot just refuses to let me pick it up. Sometimes my gun likes to re-holster immediately. I accidentally hid a body once just by one misclick. I broke my legs randomly and had to request a bullet to the face instead of suffering the long crawl back from whence I came. Nothing I didn't expect, but I could understand very well how someone would buy this or get it as a gift only to be very disappointed when they get an M4A1 and snap their legs or get sick from a silly zombie. People like to forget it's an alpha sometimes...and they forget DayZ Mod is still buggy. Edited December 21, 2013 by Diggydug

CREDiBLE 42 Posted December 21, 2013 DayZ is for the connoisseurs of gaming. Much like I guess you have to be interested in wine, cheeses or painting to fully enjoy all they have to offer, I think you have to be quite "into" gaming before you like DayZ. It takes a trained eye to see the beauty DayZ has to offer. But for those relatively few of us who get to witness it in its full glory. Well, we've got something special. That being said, I can't see why the alpher should be free of criticism. I think that most of us agrees that it's a good starting point, but I think we all agree it needs a lot of work. And it will. And people voicing their concerns aids in that respect, not destroys.

From what I have seen most people on the forums that give feedback give their opinion on what needs to be fixed/added/removed. Not just saying, "this game is trash" etc. This game needs A LOT of work, but that is why it is in alpha, and that is what they are working on.

Not just saying, "this game is trash" etc. This game needs A LOT of work, but that is why it is in alpha, and that is what they are working on. I understand this, but literally you will see newsletters and stupid tabloid news that nobody listens to because they make false figures, and what they have to say is that "DayZ standalone has launched and it's a bit unplayable... click to read more" etc; DayZ Standalone has NOT launched, they are informing the gaming community that the game was launched half-baked as it were. Sure a guy could do a bit of research and make his own mind up, but i already know a couple of guys who turned a blind eye to it because of what they heard... people just can't appreciate what it's like to be a part of a growing community. James MacDonald 14 Posted December 21, 2013 There are some issues here and there as expected, but I'm really enjoying the game so far : )
