Looting corpses

Hello everyone im pretty new to Day Z and just had a question about looting. Ive killed two players so far and I was unable to loot both of them, One of them I could see the players body & m4 weapon but I couldn't pick anything up from him I was tabbing everywhere within like 15 feet for like 5 minutes there was nothing at all.

Look at the corpse -> Scroll wheel -> Press 'F' on Gear

Thanks Ill try that, what does the scroll wheel do

Scroll wheel brings up the menu of options you can do. Like "Open Door" or "Eat" if you got food in your hands. 

Also you have to aim on the right spot on the body to loot the corpse. I think its bugging sometimes.
