Totally kidding n all... but yes.

It does seem that an assault rifle is worth far less than a can opener, simply because of how rare the can opener is.

 

really?.... I would bet my life savings on a random house containing a can opener... EVERYONE has one.

I've got two lives under my belt now out of like 8 where I didn't find a way to open a can and most of those lives I had a can opener. I think one I was stuck using a screwdriver. They are not rare at all. Meanwhile I've had 3 lives WITH an M4 and two with a Mosin.

i do agree, they need to make the m4 much more rare, but when there's more weapons then it'll be much easier to do that so we'll just have to wait it out :)

Well, as the OP says the absence of can openers is a bit silly but I like the idea of mundane loot becoming sought after in the zombie apocalypse. It adds to the sense of desperation. Killing a guy because he had a nice scope on his rifle is mundane, killing a guy for his camping stove, fishing pole or antibacterial spray can turn DayZ from glorified deathmatch to a real survival simulator IMO.

Literally found a can opener on my previous life that ended 5 minutes ago :P they are so hard to find, Id rather lose my gun than a can opener hahaha.
