DayZ SA 3 Monitor Setup - Review & Bug Report

Almost everything works after a small amount of configuration. Settings must be changed in the DayZ config file as in you must manually change the resolution in the configure file and change the aspect ratio. See settings below. 

 

Honestly, I give this game 95% rating for super wide ratios. Menus, interface, in-game text, crosshair, and character is center and working as intended.

I’ll get FPS later on, however I don’t notice any drops in frames when in town or in the forest. However I have a semi-high computer rig. Feel free to ask questions and for more screenshots.

 

Configuration:

Documents\DayZ\DayZ.cfg

Open up in notepad and change the following settings.

winX=0;

winY=0;

winW=5760;

winH=1080;

winDefW=5760;

winDefH=1080;

Render_W=5760;

Render_H=1080;

*These settings also enable Fullscreen Windows Mode

 

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1

*For performance boost

 

In-Game Settings: Turning off shadows doesn't seem to have much effect on my FPS...

 

Steam Configuration: DayZ > Properties > Launch Parameters > -nosplash -skipIntro -world=empty -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=1023 -cpuCount=6 -exThreads=7

Must change the interface to Triple-Head for the wider aspect ratio.

 

Issues:

I have noticed this issue with the mouse is off screen every time I open my inventory. This is quite annoying when I am trying to find my mouse, getting away from bad situations, and navigate around the environment all at the same time. The mouse should be center when opening the inventory.

 

Another issue: the Start menu. However it may be a problem with my client, because I have noticed it with a single monitor setup as well. I do not get any graphics on the start or character creation and I am unable to create a character. None of the buttons work for me. Though sometimes I can get graphics on the start menu right after a game, but it fades away just a few moments after entering the start menu screen.

Also, the screenshots appear to have a slightly foreshortened vertical aspect (the player appears a little short and fat). Is this how it appears on the actual displays?

I have 2700k at 4.5GHz, GTX 690, and 16GB of DDR3 memory all with a SSD hard drive. My field of focus is set to max. Maybe this is what you are referring to however in-game it looks beautiful.

Edge smoothing will destroy the FPSs. Turning it off helps a lot.

However (for me) turning it or 'Alpha to coverage' OFF makes the game look like shit. I's rather live with low fps.  And AA is a must or my eyes bleed.
