26h Worth of feedback

Recommended Posts

Thumbs up, let's do it.

What I like:

+1 Greater emphasis on survival

+1 Awesome new animations/general movement

+1 Good and intuitive inventory system

+1 Chernarus almost feels "new" again - awesome work on re-working the map!

+1 Weapon sounds

+1 Great character customisation

What I don't like:

-1 M4s are far too common.

-1 Ammo not rare enough, ammo should sometimes spawn in half or even 1/4 full mags, not full mags every time

-1 Items delete when dropped on floor

-1 Hunger/Thirst not clearly explained - i.e fact that the yellow bar means you're on 25% and "Hunger Satisfied" does not in fact mean you're 100% full.

-1 Zombie aggro - completely inconsistent

-1 Side chat randomly enables itself sometimes and it's a pain to find out who it is

-1 Gamme Hack still in the game!

-1 Awful melle combat, very unpredictable.

-1 Combat logging

-1 Pistol, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

What I'd like to see:

- More non-lethal ways to take down players. Stun guns, rubber bullets (for appropriate guns of course), tranquilliser darts. Currently I feel like there are too many guns lying about. Trying to kidnap someone who isn't unarmed is nigh on impossible.

- Areas which require specific equipment i.e abandoned military base flooded with poisonous gas, requires a gas mask to survive, underground complex. Would give actual meaning to some of the items apart from char pimping.

-Animals, cars (basically old DayZ stuff) etc. I know that zombie-rabbits are in the game lol.

-More weapons with equally as extensive customisation system as that of the M4.

-Minor one here, but when reloading your character does not take the magazine out of his gun (M4).

That's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Overall I'm really pleased with the Aplha, it's everything that I enjoyed about DayZ and then some.

Good work and I can't wait for future updates!

-1 Items delete when dropped on floor

They don't delete. Sometime's there is a lag. Give it a minute and the item will respawn on the floor close to where you dropped it.

Lol first m4 I found was in elektro in the office building. So I def agree there. Also the first zombie i aggroed was from so far away I thought it was a player coming to fight me lol. Ahh alpha, you make me laugh. But yea I think those are all pretty good points.

I really like this idea, has rocket touched on this? Things like barricaded doors that would only be openable with the proper equipment such as crow-bars, fire axes or even explosives would be really interesting too... Maybe even locked doors with a padlock, for which you'd need to find a key or the combination first, stuff like that.

In general, if they add stashes and tents, that stay on servers permanently, there should also be an option to lock down doors with padlocks (key or number combination) or something similar. Just some thoughts...

Good post.  I agree with most of it.  Something I'd like to point out though, ammo, for me, has been the most rare spawn as of yet.  Also, I find empty magazines all the time, so they do not always spawn full.  Still, even with ammo being the most rare item for me, I'm currently pretty loaded.

Animals and more guns are on the way.

Ammo is plentiful once you get to a military base that's not in the south (imo). It's actually easier to find M4 ammo than Mosin ammo lol.

Yeah, I'm not saying ammo is rare exactly.  What I'm getting as is that it's harder to find relative to most other items.  For every five M4s I find, I'll find maybe one clip of ammo.  Still not extremely rare or hard to find, but harder to find than other items as far as I can tell.

i aggre with the points on top, and the idea about the areas with certain needs for equipment is a good idea i think

One thing I would have to add (just thought of it actually), is realistically you probably would find more weapons than ammo. Reason being is (obviously), people can carry a lot more ammo than weapons.

Another cool thing is you dont know if the survivor you see has ammo or not, could make for some...dangit what movie is that...The Road or I think book of Eli, where most weapons people carry arent loaded, moments/holy run on sentence. But yea could make for some interesting interactions, would be bandits with only an axe might steer clear, whereas would be heroes probably wouldnt be so apt to help you out.
