Gear lost after joining server.

Why is my gear gone? When I started the game my character had his equipment in the main menu. After joining a server, he is at the beach, without anything.

 

 

 

I have a suspicion what is broken:

 

Server fails to get the player data from the main database, then spawns him anyway AND THEN saves his gear again leading to the loss. Basically the retrieving of data is broken and is skipped while sending the data back to main server does work.

The devs are fully aware of the issue and it will be fixed soon. Please use the search function, as there are countless other threads on this.

Soo I was having this issue. It all of the sudden seemed to stop? Almost every time now I have reloaded my game and came to see a Default character standing there. However, when I load into a server, Im back onto my original geared survivor. I was told however, if you do load in, and your on the beach or wherever. DONT PRESS ANYTHING! Let everything fully load and then press ESC and quit. Reload into a survivor and it supposedly fixes it. Thankfully I havent had to try this method yet. Hope this helps!

As the post above says. Issue is known now and is being looked into - in the meantime, I'd recommend giving a larger period of time between switching servers
