Its gonna be tight... but you probably won't make it past 20 fps. Not including downtown cherno.

Thanks for the help Guys! Ill def go with windows 7 then. I sure hope it works, it looks like an excellent game. Ive been catching the dayz streams on twitch and I've been drooling over it. Im just terrified I'm going to purchase windows along with the game and it won't be playable.

Oh yeah should i get the 64 bit edition of windows 7? Thanks again!

@Dilly0509

The Intel HD 3000 should be able to handle the game on low settings and of course not on a high resolution.

The CPU is the bottleneck and since you run Windows in Bootcamp, this setup would not provide you, what I call, a playable framerate in DayZ, especially when entering towns, it will most probably end up in a Diashow for you.

And PLEASE get Windows 7.

Would you kindly explain to all of us, why he should prefer Windows 7 over Windows 8?

I'm not gonna sugarcoat it for ya.  You've got a word processor right there.  That Intel onboard graphics is garbage.  And trying to run Windows through that and play DayZ?  All I can say is good luck.  Your framerate is gonna be terribad.

This does not answer my question.

I recommend to go with Windows 8.

It is superior to Windows 7 in any way (support, performance, security, backup function, etc.) and you don't have to use the "Metro" GUI if you don't like it!

You will have better performance/ressource management in Windows 8, compared to Windows 7, resulting in better gaming performance, especially in multithreading optimized games/game engines.

Also every programm or driver runs flawless on Windows 8 nowadays.

Very important:

Buy the x64 version of Windows 8, since the x32 versions only support up to ~4GB of System RAM!

Consider buying it now to save yourself $30 (the finished game will be more expensive) and don't bother playing it until you get a new rig.  You could also try playing to see what you get, but I agree it will be a terrible experience.

You're not supposed to read it, you're supposed to post there instead of making a new uneccesairy thread!

That said, I'd recommend building a desktop, laptops suck, and with integrated graphics... You won't see shit but a pixel war. Ofc you can still buy the game now before it gets expensive

I also can only use windows 7 64 bit version. Apparently to load windows 8 you need boot camp version 5 and my macbook can only update to version 4.
