PVE & PVP Servers

I was just trying to think of a way to make both sides of this game fun for everyone. 

 

- PVE servers include safe zones or maybe no PVP at all for those people who just want to enjoy the survival against the elements and undead with increased undead or whatever..

 

-PVP severs will be as the game was intended.

 

What are your thoughts Ideas? etc.

It's been talked over for more than a year and it's just silly. If you want to PVE then there are single-player mods/co-op mods for that.

I hope they don't add this. This is a zombie survival game. Have you ever seen a zombie apocalypse movie or show? The Walking Dead is a great example.

 

You know what's scarier than zombies? Desperate humans in a world without laws.

Pretty much. When private hives crop up you will see role play servers crop up slowly these have strict no kill rules but its always fun to join and spoil their fun.

If you want to call it a "survival" game, fine, but part of survival is surviving other people. So, it's also PvP. Unless you're the last person on Earth, which you're not.

If people want to play with no pvp then let them.

I personally think its dumb and sucks all the fun outta dayz.

General public should not suffer in anyway from these pve servers.

Did you just say that on PvP servers people will play as the game is meant? I hope you aren't serious. If so, I lol @ you.

Players will always make dayz a pvp game.. No matter what title you give the game, i was thinking of an alternitive server for people who prefer a PVE setting, without the risk of being sniped while trying to get off the coast. I personaly love the game the way it is and dont mind the kill on site.. i just see a lot of people complaining about it.

Ha, those rules lovers... I do not count the number of servers on the mod i knew, with those rules addicts claiming safe-zones, asking for "talk before shoot only" (lol, "hello, can i shoot you ?" Epic stuff), and finally ending in full pve server or approaching, and each time those servers died in less that a few dayz or 2/3 weeks... Cause pvp and pressure in other people's contacts is what makes dayz... Dayz !

Wow, if you're looking for a pvp free style game, then you should play resident evil or something. DayZ is about survival, which means surviving humans(players) as well as zombies.

I like this idea so that when I get people complaining about the kill on site, I can say go to the care bear pve server if you dont like it.

I play with a group of friends and any other player is a risk to our safety and resources, so those other players need to die, and having a consequence for killing other players would take from the free-will of the game. If you want a realistic survival game then there needs to be no rules, also I love that items get damaged when you shoot people, its not going to eliminate the kill on site but will force people to collect resorces instead of killing for items.

I'm sure people will make some PVE mods and im sure there will be some people who enjoy them. Thanks everyone for your input on this idea!

I think there would have to be more ways for players to create content for each other before a "no friendly fire" server would be viable.
