Skat3rat 1633 Posted December 19, 2013 You have to buy SA. You bought a game for a mod the first time. No where did it state you would get a free copy of SA.
SmashT 10907 Posted December 19, 2013 You have to buy it, it's a separate game. The mod is still free.
Vertisce 158 Posted December 19, 2013 ArmA 2 is not DayZ. It's ArmA 2. A different game by the same company. You may have purchased ArmA 2 with the sole intent of playing the DayZ mod but unfortunately there is no way for them to tell who bought it for that purpose and who didn't. Either way...it's a different game and they deserve the money to fund the game and improve it. DayZ is well worth the $30. ArmA 2 by itself is also more than worth anything you paid for it and you can still play the mod in ArmA 2 which you will likely do when you tire of the bugs in DayZ SA. DayZ mod was free, Arma 2 was a separate game and has nothing to do with the standalone or the DayZ developer team. I don't see how is it unfair?
Phineas 56 Posted December 19, 2013 I bought Arma II and AO so I could try the hottest game / mod seen in ages. I've tried Arma II and stuff, but it's DayZ that I love. Since then I've been playing DayZ Epoch, and have been driving tanks and tons of different helis and getting tons of different weapons, including stingers and grenade launchers and stuff. It's been an incredible ride and the energy behind the mod is just amazing. I just bought the SA yesterday and am cutting my teeth on it, but it was no question, I wanted to see Rocket's passion and finally throw money at what I was actually enjoying.
