When Dayz Standalone gets an Update does the mod get one too?

No, the mod and the game are totally separate.

The DayZ Standalone game and the DayZ Mod are two completely different projects by two completely different teams.

Okay thank you guys, I haven't yet played it because of the steam issue last night and I'm currently in college, is standalone any good? :D

There's a lot of bugs and a lot unfinished/not yet added features, and a high chance of losing all your gear to a glitch or even database wipe.

 

But despite all that i am enjoying it a lot. its a big improvement over the mod and has huge potential as the updates come rolling in.

That's really good to hear :) Yeah I can't wait for the future updates, for example more weapons being added and vehicles.

The mod will still get some updates though. They haven't just abandoned it.
