Can you swim in the current build of DayZ SA?

Can you swim? I wanna check out Ute's Island however I was told my character will die?

 

I don't care about realism etc... it is fine if that is the case, I just want to know before I sacrifice my character in the name of Ute's

Damn, me too. I haven't been any further east than cherno. I always head north.

I tried looking for it but I don't think it's in yet. I swam to Skalisky island and went to the southern end as well.

 

And yes you can swim but not dive underwater yet. Swimming is definitely an improvement.

Ok, lets all hunt for Utes Island, it must be out there surely.

I saw a youtube video of the leaked SA version from Jan and it was in the game then so I can only but hope it is there.

maybe it is not where we were once told.
