Can we please pick names ourselves?

No really, why is the name bound to our current Steam name? This seems pretty terrible.

Moreover from what I heard it even gives you a new character if you change your Steam name.

 

Can this be changed? Why not just let us pick a name?

I'm still waiting to see one of the 781 pages worth of Steam players with the name "Cunt Destroyer" ingame.  Class acts, that lot.

 

 

I like having it tied to your Steam name, it gives a sense of semi-permanence to your character that you don't get when you can change it willy-nilly.  People will probably have a tendency to keep their Steam names for longer periods of time.  Thankfully my steam name is the name I want to use ingame as well.

We get that you don't want them to be the same you still haven't given a reason WHY you don't want them to be the same? Before you say so, Yes you can have your own reasons that you don't want to share, but you'll probably get more support if we know WHY.
