Can you re fill plastic water bottles?

I tried in a pond near Electro, no go. Do you need to find a canteen? And also purification tablets?

You can refill them at water pumps. I'm not sure of any other sources.

Find a water pump.  Put the bottle in your hands, and you can fill your bottle.

You can refill them in ponds and any other watersource. It's got a chance of infecting you, though. So it's always best to use purification pills.

For refill at a pond make sure with the bottle or canteen in hand you go into first person view.  Water Pumps you can do it in 3rd.

water pumps are your best bet if you want water that won't infect you I literally spent three mins quenching my guys thirst no infection. ponds are fine but there's definitely a risk like with rotten food
