LAN Question

Since there is an option for playing LAN-Games, i have a question.
How will we (if possible in future..what i expect with an lan-option) be able to Host a Game ?

Is there a sever.exe planed in future or something similar allready possible via Steam/Arma2/etc. ?
I have 0 information on this and would appreciate every bit of info.

Since we have a huge local area-/homenetwork
it would be really interesting for us to have a Lan going on
