Can't climb ladders or open doors?

I was trying to find food on my char... died and respawned

and once I spawned in I couldn't open any doors, or climb any ladders...

 

my reticle went from being the regular circle to just a single dot on the screen...

what did I do and how do I fix it? <_<

If you dont get the option to open doors or gates your are running a different version of the game then the server your on is running.  Verify your game cache in steam to make sure you are running the latest version.

I noticed that the servers hosted by GameServers.com have not been updated to the latest version (v.113772). So if you join one of their hosted servers, you're going to run into this issue.

Yup sure enough

wish unmatched servers would not show up...
