John Hunter 2 Posted December 17, 2013 Hello everyone i am John Hunter, and I would like to know can i make a fire? can i make a torch.(no the flashlight) Can i set things on fire? I promise I'm not crazy or a pyrotechnic, i wish to just snuggle by the fire with a couple of buddies and not get eaten by these damn zombies!
Guest Posted December 17, 2013 Not sure how myself. I have wood and matches but I can't seem to combine them into a fire.

herrjon 478 Posted December 17, 2013 I had matches but lost them, so I didn't have a chance to try myself, but if you haven't already, make sure to interact with the matches and wood anyway you can, i.e. combine, put in hands and right click both of them or scroll wheel out of inventory, set wood on the ground and scroll, etc. There's a lot of different ways you can interact with objects that actually make sense when you get down to it, but it seems counter intuitive at first. Also remember this was a bare bones release, and a lot of features are planned on being added but haven't been yet for one reason or another, but the items still exist in game.
benlav 1 Posted December 17, 2013 From memory in the arma mod you needed to make wood pile first on the ground.

RosscoMac 75 Posted December 17, 2013 I would guess that you place the wood on the ground, the matches in your hand then scroll wheel over the wood. Seems the most logical way so give it a go if you haven't already?
dimitri3p0 99 Posted December 17, 2013 I found a rock in an apartment, in the description it said it was good for making firepits. Haven't tried myself but perhaps you need a few of those as well as the normal ingredients.

Or maybe if you DON'T use rocks to make your firepit, you'll start a forest fire and possibly burn down half of Chernarus and everything in it. That would be entertaining. klesh 2423 Posted December 18, 2013 I don't believe fires are in yet. At least they weren't in the pre-alpha testing.
