Cooking mechanics?

Ok, I found a cooking pot, portable gas stove, gas cannister, and assembled them.  I turned on the gas and it makes a little blue flame and steam effect and all that cool stuff.

 

But what the heck can I do with it?  Doesn't cook cans, opened cans, water bottle, soda, or canteen.  Nothing yet?

I think you can cook rice? If you got some, try to fill the  cooking pot with water and then try to put rice in there?

I've tried putting water from a canteen and water bottle in, nothing.  Rice did nothing either.

Tried the same, water/rice/pot had no interactable ways to combine(as far as i tried). tried holding them, right click options, putting pot on ground heaps of different variations. Gas stove looked cool when lit up tho.

I had the same issue, I am thinking it is not in the game yet. I also found I couldn't boil water, but I have not been getting sick from drinking from puddles, ponds, streams and any other source of water. I am sure it will be added later, but as of last night not yet.

Must just not be enabled yet.  Going to be super neat though.  As the loot tables get more complicated and stuff starts to work in combination, this game is gonna be fantastic.  IMO it's already "playable" now that healing, unconcious bug, etc are fixed.  I think the next big step is hunting.

I have seen a vid of someone cooking rice. I believe you need a bayonet as the handle (the m91 for the mosin I think). Other than that I'm not really sure. I'm trying to survive as long as possible, on my 4th day now so I will just keep my gas stove in my protector case until I figure it out ;)

It is not enabled yet.

 

But you can put the stove on the ground and put the pot on top. That is as far as you can go. I am guessing you will be able to add water and rice later on to cook.

I tried do do the same with no luck.  I even shot at the gas bottle to see if it would explode.
