Is there only 1 character per server?

There's one thing I'm wondering about. Is there only 1 character per server, so if you play on a server for a while and then log out, in order to use that character and not a new one do you need to connect to the exact same server? Because I lost my character today because of that.

 

And also, is there any way for people in europe to play on servers not in europe? Because I'm getting pretty sick of the night time and I don't have time to play during the early day.

But in theory you should be able to join any server and keep your stuff, as it's a linked database. :)

No all servers are connected to the same main database or hive as we call it. So your character will have the same gear on all servers.

Good to know..... you should probably make fixing this so that it's stable one of your first priorities. It's the kind of frustration we all hoped would dissapear with the standalone. But yeah, early alpher, ect, I get it.

The Database has been one of main concerns in the past and I believe it's going to be fixed very soon.

Good :) but what about the day night thing? What's the cycle like? And I don't see any us servers in the game so I have a feeling that's not an option. I don't want to play during the night ALL the time. It was fun for a while but you know..

Its being worked on. From the info im being told each servers sets its own time based on the box its running on so if the server is in your area and its dark outside it will be dark ingame.

 

I know Dean has mentioned in past interviews they are going to be changing this as time goes on.
