Wholey low end laptops batman - - ya instead of replying to you all individually...

NO

sorry.

a laptop with any less than 2.8 ghz and a reasonably good video card will not play dayZ...you may be able to get 5-10 fps in some cases, but i dont consider that playable.

look to my flowchart for easy info

http://www.putlocker.com/file/446BEAF501E55C96

Optimal experience is LOTS of GHZ and medocre video card+

IE i5,i7,amd with minimum 3.5 ghz

and a gtx 460+

So youre saying my 25-30fps in Cherno is placebo with an i7 2,2(3.1boost) and a lowend GT630m?

Both of them are under what you "recommend".

But youre right, with my HD3000 I got 10FPS.

You recommending people to upgrade because their hardware isnt enough right now, is like sending a dog to the moon. It might accomplish wonders and world peace, but its not for sure. As the optimization is horrbile theres systems running with i7 4960x overclocked to the skies, 3xtitans, 1000gb RAM and a billion SSDs in Raid 0, they will STILL HAVE FPS problems.

What are you judging the performance on with your flowchart? Have you tried the configurations youre suggesting?

so youre recommending a minimum of a $225 CPU?(i5 4670k 3,5ghz) or a AMD FX6300 thats cheaper, but also considerably worse performance per core, which happens to be important in a game like DayZ and arma?

what?

not recommending anything...your turbo boost saves you there.

flowchart helps nubs who have 0 computer knowledge to say OH jeez, my moms laptop is really not going to play dayZ...maybe ill not post a ridiculous question on the forums or use google.

Or low end pc's, or people with 2.8 ghz i7 with mid-low video card complaining that they can only get 5-10 fps...

quite possibly on ultra low with a horrible frame rate...

your amd processor will be problematic and so will your graphics card.

CPU ghz?

may run ok on low ish settings 20-30 fps or so

AMD is a pain for SA, needs optimization either way (search for the guides on google and forums)

laptops in general are sub par to a PC, specially for arma 2, 3, SA

its going to be a challenge...with my lenovo  core 2 duo @ 2.8 ghz and a reasonable gfx card it struggles to get15fps.

mainly due to processor

your gfx card is going to hurt as well.

my game usually runs realy slow in towns sometimes its unbearable ... the worst framerate i have had is 4/5 with a rage factor of tomato face. i run razer game booster with the game and i have started to do a CCleaner scan before every game , which seems to have improved it. i just set my NVIDIA display to performance instead of quality, need to test that. plus i think im hacked so that wont help :-/

any ideas on how i could help improve my framerate without buying any new parts ?

Deebz,

No a desktop, it's a Dell Studio XPS...had it for about 4 years.  I was afraid of that.   Guess it's time to upgrade.

This is the first game in a long time that I'm interested in playing.  Use to play Air Warriors III and America"s Army but AWIII shut down and AA just got too updated for my liking and my computer.  So I took a break from gaming online until I saw DayZ on youtube and starting reviewing the game.  Really interested in playing this game but I don't have a lot of funds laying around to buy a 1000+ unit.  Would it be possible to build a desktop for under $500.00 that would be able to perform in this game for the next several years?

Thanks for your input, it's appreciated.

Lizard.

Don't, that will barley run it, at 610 is basically worse then intel integrated graphics. Save up more and buy something better.
