No 3rd Person View after updating to 1.7?

Hey all, so I can log into servers finally and got the game running smoothly after updating to 1.7, but now I'm unable to see my character in 3rd person mode. I also believe all the zeds are invisible also, so something is definitely up with all the character animations.

It's just the avatar that is invisible. The UI looks fine, the environment is a-ok, sound is working properly-- just no avatars appear.

Thanks in advance for any pointers or help. I've tried updating using Six Updater and the Worrom.com one, if that helps.

I've already gotten it and have had it for a little while now.

Can you go in game and on the main menu write the number that begins with 1.60 here

I found my error. In a helpful video it explains that to correctly install updates using Six Updater you must run the game *using* Six Updater once, which I did. I can now see my character.

Update: so, I can see my character in the Six Updater version, but I can't see in my Steam version.
