PC doesn't seem to perform as I would like.

I was wondering if any of you techs could let me know what it is on my PC that is causing me to get 23 FPS at BEST.

 

Windows 7 64bit

AMD Athlon II X4 640

12GB installed RAM

GeForce GTX 650 1GB

 

I run at 1600x900 resolution in game.

 

I have tried everything i could find to get my FPS smoother. Every guide online to tweak the graphics settings and yet I remain at 20 - 23 in wilderness and 11 - 14 in cities.

Your system might not be as good as you think in regards of performance on ARMA 2, as it's very powerhungry.

 

But in the meantime take a look at this guide. Maybe there's something that will help you.

 

It also makes a huge difference if you're on Vanilla DayZ (currently 1.8.0.3) or on other modifications of it.

 

It is also depending on the server.

I've read and copied that entire guide plus edited my Arma2.cfg and Arma2OA.cfg file tricks.

 

I'm currently running versions:

Arma2 - 103718

Dayz Epoch - 1.0.2.5 (i know it's the older but most servers are not on 1.0.3 yet)

 

 

I didn't expect my PC to be immaculate, but i didn't expect to be hitting around 40 - 60 as most players claim to constantly run at 60.

 

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions as to what is bogging it down i would greatly appreciate it!!

Epoch is not particularly known for good performance. There's nothing you can do, as it is Epoch itself.

 

And not only that - it also has to do with serverside FPS possibly not being the best.

Epoch is not good for FPS. No matter what you do.
