patch 1.60

hi im new to this game, still trying to get things set up.

 

is there a certain version the dayz mod requires?

 

im asking because i tried to update the game to 1.62, the updater said i needed to be at 1.60 first, and my version was 1.59.

 

the 1.60 download mirrors dont seem to exist anymore and clicking the download button at the actual arma 2 site doesnt seem to do anything either.

 

very frustrating and overly annoying just to patch a game, so im just wondering if its necessary, and if so, how do i go about getting patch 1.6 when clearly arma 2 doesnt think anyone is going to want this update anymore.

Yeah you need 1.62.103718 for dayz.

I was trying to get the game installed yesterday after a long absence, and finding the right patches etc was getting frustrating.

 

In the end installing Dayz commander was the best and quickest way to do things. That will bring your game up to the most recent patch/version and allow you to easily find and join servers.

i did finally get one of the mirrors to start downloading after over an hour of frustration.

its still downloading.

 

i downloaded an installer for dayz commander but havent actually installed it yet

that program will actually get my version of arma 2:oa up to the correct version as well?

I'm not sure if dayzcommander handles the 1.60 patch but its worth a try.

 

Its a good program to have either way as it makes keeping up to date with recent patches and mod updates a lot easier and lets you keep track of your favourite servers.

ok thanks! i installed it, and i dont see any way to update the game itself, only day z mod updates and installations. thats fine tho, the 1.6 patch is almost done downloading.

Once you get 1.60 installed you can use commander to update the different 1.62 arma patches.

only i didnt get either of the patches i needed from there. my internet connection is fine, and i would click the download button for either 1.60 and 1.62 and my browser would just give me that spin circle thing telling me its trying for.....ever. for the 1.60 actually after about 15 min i got a blank web page that said no data received. i surf all day long and play mmo's all the time, so it certainly is not my connection that was doing this.

Just do what fluxley said and use Commander for all your updates^
