I have taken out all the zombies, why is dayz still lagging?

Recommended Posts

I took out all the zombies to run some tests, and with the zombies gone, players are happy getting from 30-70 FPS

but, there is a nasty 7 second lag, for exampel when using a bandage, it takes somes times 5-9 seconds for it to work.

this is not good as players as losing  blood.

could this be fixed? I have a 100 MB dedicated machine, with only 1 server running so I dont know whats going on, or if dayz is just death

I don't know much about server hosting but 100 MB doesn't sound like enough.

Agreed.

As well, what do you do in DayZ without zombies? That's just Arma with the Chernarus map :O

I don't even understand what you're getting at.

100 MB? Of what?

RAM? Wouldn't even be able to start.

HDD space? Wouldn't be able to to get ARMA on there.

Connection speed? Would cause Desync / Lag.

We need more information about what you're actually trying to do here.

Oh - and if you're actually running a Vanilla 1.8.0.3 Server and had to switch your Zombies off so people get >30 FPS you're doing something wrong, as any normal gameserver for 15$ / month gets better serverside FPS.

Yeah, my first assumption was that whatever you're using as your server (possibly a toaster, by the sounds of things) isn't powerful enough, and that's what's causing the problem.

I think he means 100 Mbit :p that's the port speed of the server, nobody has 100MB of anything these days .... surely

my pc

CPU:

Intel i5 (4 cores / 4 Threads)

Frequency:

3.1GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost)

RAM:

8 GB DDR3

Hard disk:

2 x 1TB SATA2

Bandwidth:

100Mbps - 5 TB/month

now, I been looking around and found that still people dont know how or what settings in the basic.cfg do.

what should my basic cfg be for a 100 mbit line ?

Also, people say arma runs great and dayz runs bad, what in dayz, is causing it to lag? zoombies? loot?

no mater what I do, server runs fine for a little while, and yes people say they have 30-50 fps on my server , some even 70, but it takes 7 seconds  to blood bag?
