Bad serial number given in steup

Okay I know there are a lot of posts about this but i cannot fix it. On both my ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA when I launch it loads the Bohemia Interactive screen then closes down and says "Bad Serial Number Given in Setup". I have tried EVERYTHING to fix this and it still does not work. I have tried re installing, Verifying integrity of cache, regedit thing, EVERYTHING. I can't seem to get it to work.

 

I have a Steam version of both.

If you bought it within the last 48 hrs, give them time to actually give you a key.

In 12-24 hours, reinstall again if it doesn't automatically give you one

I had the same problem with this and two other games during the summer sale, don't worry.

It's just Steam needing more keys.

Did you do a search for your serial number in the system registry (regedit) and find it ?

I looked through the Bohemia Interactive Studio folder and in the ArmA 2 OA folder it says KEY REG_BINARY, but there is no key to the right.

Ugh I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate this problem soooo much. I have no idea what causes. I uninstall/reinstall, verify cache, hard-delete, and do a million other things. It seems like (for me) it's never fixed the same way twice. I really wish I could help you, mate.

Its because your registry is corrupted... you may need to delete your registry for arma and OA the  re start both games individually to re write it... ive posted how to do this shit loads about a year or so ago.. but google is yah friend.. also it may be worth just trying to start both arma and OA indiviually and run all the way to menus, yah never know it may over write the registry.

Ive told you how to fix it.. this is an old issue/common issue, it can happen by either yah registry for arma getting corrupted, or if its a new install, not running arma 2 individually, then OA individually all the way to the start menus, to write the registry. Oh, and you must run it as ADMINISTRATOR (important)
