Editor menus not popping up

I know this is probably just an ARMA related problem, but I'm wondering if anybody else here has this problem and has managed to solve it. I've already posted on the BIS forum but no luck so far.

So basically when I am in the editor when I try to reach the various menus like "units", "groups", "triggers", etc... by either double clicking them or pressing the corresponding "F" keys...nothing happens.

Anyone got an idea what is causing this? I'm running the steam version and I'm also using the latest beta patch. Cheers.
