Stuttering problem in multiplayer ArmA 2 OA

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I've been getting this problem in Arma 2 OA multiplayer where i get this reaally bad stuttering every 2nd second. I've tried re-installing, defraging and updating my GPU but nothing seems to work. If i remove every file of ArmA and then re-install it, the stuttering will be gone for maybe a day or so, but then it's back again. I only get this problem playing multiplayer in ArmA, i've tried the singleplayer armory, and it works fine. Here is a video with all my specs and it explains my very sad problem. I've been trying to fix this for ages now, but literally nothing has worked, so if you know how to fix this i will literally love you 4 ever... <3

Single player always works better than multiplayer unless you add as much AI then it will lag too.

High end hardware is no magic cure against ArmA. I would try a SSD as a last resort with your specs if you don't already have one. I have a constant 40-60 outside towns in Chernarus and around 25-35 in towns and almost always 60fps on Sahrani except around 35-45fps in the bigger towns with an i7-2600k and a 580GTX for reference ( settings are a mixed high and very high ). I wonder if my rig would do more if i had a 120Hz display...

It's not the fps that is the problem, i get like 60 on high settings playing DayZ, its just that every 2nd second i get this really bad stutter that drops my frame to around 20 and then back again to 60, as you can see in the video. And also, i've tried installing on an SSD, doesn't help.

Yes i've tried them with no luck... And since i've been having this problem for so long, and no one can seem to help me, i would gladly pay 10$ to whoever can help me get rid of this problem for good.

Edit: I tried disabling hyperthreading and it reduced the stuttering quite some bit, but its not completly gone yet...
