Abs (DayZ) 1 Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) Just wondering if I am doing something wrong here or if it's something I need to learn to notice better. Anyways im struggling fighting in the trees / bush, more to the point spotting people in the pine trees. On my screen I can see under them at a fairly close and far distance with a scoped weapon ok, but just zooming with a right click the tree is a blob and when close enough that they aren't blobbed and fully rendered I struggle to make out if anyone is there. This has cost me a few times in a firefight. Is there something I'm missing such as different graphic settings or is it something you need to learn by just noticing something isn't right or does everyone else have the same problem? Thanks! As long as you don't have an old computer or not the best setup it will not be worth turning your graphics down. It generally is something you will have to get used to, as it is a legitimate way to hide - even though most of the time you will be able to make them out. Take a look at the bottom of the tree - usually there's nothing there and you will clearly see feet sticking out. :)
Abs (DayZ) 1 Posted November 12, 2013 My computer is fairly new. I'm pretty sure the problem I'm having is graphics related as there's been one or more occasion I cannot see someone when a friend can and I know the exact location they are in the graphics just look to... well bad really for me to be able to seem the anywhere next to clearly. Fruit_loop87 21 Posted November 13, 2013 It would be I play on my laptop and its nothing special and I can hardly see 400mtr at balota for example I can only see half way down the runway so firefights are hard in the woods without a good graphics card and CPU to have the textures clear enough to spot movement in the woods, but standalone is going to be better with less powerful computers as it isn't a mod of a whole other game and it will be worked better as it is better built for the game when it comes out. Sula 1205 Posted November 14, 2013 Hi, Fruitloop. I have a similar problem. May I ask, what sort of graphics card do you have?
Fruit_loop87 21 Posted November 15, 2013 Yeah I have a radeon hd 6550m 1gb graphics card and have an intel i5 CPU and running it on windows
dulix11 731 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Yeah I have a radeon hd 6550m 1gb graphics card and have an intel i5 CPU and running it on windows 7 That'd be your problem. I would be aiming for something like a 7770, that would get you much better performance :) EDIT: are you using a laptop? Assuming so because of your GPU, ArmA II is quite a task for a laptop. It is a pretty demanding game, and not alot of laptops can handle it. Edited November 15, 2013 by dulix11
Fruit_loop87 21 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) Yeah it's an laptop but over all it handles ok just the distance of sight is very poor it can't handle that task with the textures of the land at a distance greater then a few hundred meters, I'm more of a ps3 person and don't play pc games but with a game like this it was just to good to not have a go on, and I really enjoy arma as a game as well. spankyspandex 2 Posted November 15, 2013 (edited) I know I'll regret this, but if you haven't done so watch this video, it may help your video settings, I know it totally changed my game. Edited November 15, 2013 by smugfop
