only need 3 item

spraycan

 

they try similar thing in counter strike but they don't do in serious way

 

every time some idiot try make stupid penis everywhere or porno but maybe is possible make system so player need permission from server admin before he using in game

 

also make so is fade after time disappear or maybe permanent? again make possible server choice for this

 

make so player can import image accepted by server and do graffiti in game IF HE HAVE PAINT IN GAME FOR THIS ONLY

 

make so all paint is same colours like rest of map to keep atmosphere and realism feel

 

make so image is one color only and look like graffiti using brush for paint house or spray paint can

 

maybe make car so is panel template so guys can do custom job ;)

What would be really interesting is if your available color pallette was controlled by what colors of paint you had (so if your picture had, say, a purple elephant and two tigers "doing the jiggy" but you only had orange paint, it would look like a bunch of orange slashes)

The only thing that would be acceptable in any form of graffiti is only writing, not drawing as we all know where that'd lead to.

 

Edit: I'd also make use out of the note and pen system and place them along walls with some tape to attach it with. This could be helpful in posting warnings like "large zombie gathering, beware" or "bandit hiding in building with rifle, take caution"

I would love to be able to use a  spray can in Chernarus but we all now that no matter what is implemented there will be cocks everywhere. Could work, but  do you have any specific details on how it would work?

• which surfaces?
• what are the restrictions?
• how do you prevent offending and/or illegal drawings to be made?

• Walls, billboards/sings, roads, treebarks. Vehicles would be sweet too.
• No restrictions. Maybe rain would wash them away. Or crafting = gasoline + rug = You can erase them.
• Offending maybe, but illegal drawing? Can't see what defines an illegal drawing. Anyhow, maybe a system could be implemented so everytime you spray paint on a surface this gets logged/saved somewhere in the database (as a transparent texture with paint on it) along with your guid. So if someone sees something offending/illegal there could be a place to report it. Admins/mods would check it out, give a warning for starters, second warning, then I dunno, suspend your guid for like one month. And if you keep doing it then permaban.

IT's also very possible, especially today, that censoring "after the facts" will not be perceived as proactive enough.

Well, copyrighted songs and the involvement of RIAA/MPAA isn't something relevant me thinks. Say I draw my version of guernica. Or some big company logo as a matter of fact. Who's going to sue me? It's my depiction of something. My own creation. I didn't steal it, neither I'm making profit out of it.

I think this kind of situations can be easily avoided by the logging system I just proposed. Although, one penis shouldn't be such a reason. I mean it's ok to have some kind of supervision, but not strictly so people can't be creative. And I'm not saying drawing penises is creative, I'm just afraid that if this kind of supervision gets too strict then there'll be too many rules and complaints and it'll all go to hell. The mods will get their hands full all the time and finally will just disable the feature and say "well we can't keep doing this".

I think the people getting caught up saying this feature won't be any good because people will use it to splash porn everywhere are ridiculous. Just assuming that everyone will use the feature for that and nothing else is foolish.

 

If worse comes to worse, DayZ can just pull it off like the source engine and make the images disableable, either on client or server side. This means users that don't want to see them can have them removed entirely while still having that functionality.
