coming back to DayZ

Recommended Posts

Haven't played since the forums got hacked, what's changed?

When is SA coming out?

Do zombies still glitch through walls?

To answer your questions:

Not an awful lot - KoS is a pretty big problem at the moment, but gameplay-wise the mod's moving in the right direction. Best place to catch up on all the changes would be the changelog threads in the announcements forum.

Still no official release date on the Standalone, but it now exists in the Steam database, so it perhaps wouldn't be a million miles away to assume that if they're not on the home straight, they're rounding the last bend - at least as far as the Alpha is concerned, obviously.

And yeah, they still walk through walls - unfixable in the mod, sadly.

Oh my god, I've missed you so much. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?

I've called everyone and no-one has seen you since you left.

I can't stay mad at you, it's so good to see you.

DayZ Epoch has turned what was Vanilla into the best multiplayer tactical survival game on the market;   DayZ Epoch http://dayzepoch.com is a modification of DayZ set in a future time after the Great Infection..  Just check it out.

The only thing it can't do is fix the zombie pathing, but that is off-set with the very broad value of greater player-influenced game-play mechanics and dynamic missions, building, crafting, trading, etc.

Don't say that! Vanilla is still the way to go!

He's just trying to advertise his server, don't pay attention. Same thing here, and here. No matter what the thread is about, epoch is the solution :P

Feel free to try Epoch but I personally don't find it all that amazing. Vanilla's always where I end up and I think 1.8 was overall a great update.

1.8 changed a lot, check out the changelogs.

Zombies are bearable right now if you ask me.

SA never comes out. Ever.

I agree. Zombies are a lot more manageable now. They're not as omniscient, and don't take half my blood with a single swipe.

I've had a number of broken legs though, but for the first time in months I've actually been able to equip myself and stay alive while playing stealthy - instead of having every zombie present on the opposite side of a town hunt me down the moment I crawl prone in the grass past the outskirts.
