Sorry posted this before I finished, I'm not sure if this idea I have has been said before if so that's good means people want to see it as well as me, I really would like to see with the new hit points were items break to where you have been shot that when you bleed your clothes will need to be washed to wash out the blood because ill love to see a zombie smell out a wounded person trying to find a disinfecting item to clean it to lose the zombies, and I would like to see zombies hunting a goat for food and eating it and other zombies fighting over the last bit of food I think it would add a cool element to the game you can kill a goat and choice to gut it to get the zombies over to it so you can loot the area and risk wasting that food you could of used to live a but longer or use it to maybe get some good gear. I think zombies need to be invoed in standalone it needs to be harder and a lot less food to make this element work in the game of the risk/reward aspect what we all love about dayz. Hope someone in the devs has had this idea before and someone could tell me that this is an old idea I haven't seen it that's all, if its new tell me what you think. Sorry for posting before I finished.

I've been reading Justin Chronin's "The Passage" and I think it would be an awesome setting for a Day Z style game. The virals are fast moving and lethal and come out at night and dead players can spawn into virals. Searching through the day players would have to be careful of shaded areas and inside areas as these may contain virals.  Virals could move as swarms or independently. The players would have to find safe places at night or band together just to survive the night and not get overwhelmed. There could be a long term narrative where they have to form or find some kind of community or eliminate the source of the virals. The pressure on survival would reduce the tendency of KOS for player vs player.

The only downside to it would be that the setting is probably the intellectual property of Chronin.

I really want tug boats like the ones you could get in GTA 4.

Preferably if you can walk around on them.

They could be anchored on the coast with a few CQ infected to clear out before you can get it going.

They ain't easy on the fuel I don't think...

There presence also makes sense as they're used to tug large boats into docks for unloading, much like the ones you see in Elektro and Churno.

And barges aswell which could be double the fun if you could tug them around.

We don't need a release date we want the best dayz game we can get our hands on and play for years, I think clips and mags shouldn't spawn with guns and if they do it should only be a half a clip to show that it has been used before or maybe a player has been by.

Also I to would love to see huge packs of zombies you would sh*t your self the first time you turn a corner and their is 100 zombies fighting each other for blood

Think you missed the top line there :)

And yeah I totally agree with zombie hordes in certain areas.

I think just adding in simple realistic dangerous creatures would add more dynamic to the survival portion.

Example:

The DayZ team expanded Chernarus, adding in a swamp area. What's to say that swamp shouldn't have crocodiles and large snakes. We all know everyone will be checking out the new areas, not sure they will be camping those areas especially when the night falls. You and your buddies have a camp fire going, attempting to stay warm enough not to catch a cold. But Joe smuckatellie forgot to fill his cantee earlier when the rest of you did just after leaving that small town. So Joe runs down to the swamp to grab some water to bring back and heat up over the camp fire and apply his water sanitization tablets to. But Joe has been gone for some time, then you hear a low deep bass growl and hear Joe scream for help. You run down towards his screaming voice with your flashlights blaring in his direction but its too late. The server message comes up "Joe Smuckatellie was killed". You hear the low roar again, quickly pointing your flashlights in the direction. The crocodile is moving quickly at you. You all take off running. One of you look back and see Joe's shirt hanging from his mouth.

Damn... just another night in DayZ Standalone.

Some type of wildcat or wild rabies dog would be nice because animals just arent getting proper love and care in these hard times. They have to fend for themselves as well. Would make the forests and water a tad bit dangerous. So its not just players and zombies. Better conserve your ammo for faster deadly predators or team up with some humans that aren't bandits.

Wow that is an amazing idea it will life so hard no were is safe. Having a life left right and centre will be so sweet, finding a safe place to camp will be so hard with things roaming the night in the woods and other ones during the day. It will make no were safe and that will make the game less boring if you leave the shore line.

I also would like to see traps like for example: their is an bandit in the fire station shooting poor survivors so you get some fuel drums and move them in to the fire station and get a fuel can and move up the stairs, you know the bandit can hear you now and you know he will be camping to shot you so you get up a floor or two and start to make a trail of fuel down the stairs and out the door pass the fuel drums you place down, sneak out and light it up and watch the dirty bandit burn to the floor or climb down to you and your buddy waiting for him. Not sure how hard that would be what camp fires done to close to trees can light a huge fire too

Somehow I don't think a crocodile would live in Chernarus' seemingly colder environment.
