Massive fps drops

Specs:

i5 4570

AMD R9 280x

8GB RAM

 

I'm getting 1 - 10 fps near cities and inside them, this is on lowest settings and highest I've already tried to install to my SSD, change base game + OA cfg file setting (fps ahead and more) and run it with the command -nosplash -cpucount=4 -exThreads=7.

 

Nothing helps, any solutions?

This ain't DayZ, with this system he should at least get ~30 fps in cities.

 

So there appears to be a problem... are you HW temperatures okay? What software is running in the background?

You might wait until AMD releases a new Catalyst driver version, ince you have a (awesome) brand-new Radeon.

That graphicscard is most likely running ARMA with about 10% usage. But with that setup it's still very unlikely to get that performance. Especially not with the new patch.

 

Have you tried different servers? Is it actual  DayZ or a different mod?

CPU temp isn't going above 45, GPU not above 60, nothing heavy running on the background.

Still haven't tried different servers or mods.

I hope a new AMD Catalyst will be out soon.

(some settings in arma can really kill the performance on ATI graphics cards)

I've installed AMD catalyst 13.11 beta 7 [i was on beta 1], still no improvement around cities.

There lies your problem, FPS is very dependent on the server.

Also it is necessary to set video memory to default, or it will only use 512MB VRAM of your graphics card.
