mronebadkid 2 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) I play on a Laptop HP Core I3 Intel. For some reason I lag up a storm there's no making the lag stop I only get good FPS looking at the ground or at the sky. I know I know I'm using a Laptop but I got a GateWay Desktop and Intel Core I3 and it still only barley gets 20 FPS. I get at-least 15 FPS on my laptop. I know plenty of people who got Laptops that run this game fine. My GateWay barley runs this game and like I said I know people with pretty much same Core as me and stuff and they run it ten times better then me on a Desktop. So can someone please help me out with trying to increase my FPS. I don't care if you only got tips with the Desktop to increase the FPS tell me because then I'll use my Desktop to play DayZ on. Or only if you got tips for the Laptop. Just please help me out with this it will make the game so much more enjoyable when I can actually look up off the ground without lagging super bad. It'll be a big help if you can tell me how to increase my FPS! Even switching my settings in game I'll tell them if someone asks and if I need to switch I will just please, please help me out with this FPS. Also, I don't get 20 FPS in major towns I get tops like 5 if I'm lucky I get 8 but that's if I'm SUPER LUCKY that day. Rekli 995 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) I play on a Laptop HP Core I3 Intel. _________ 20 FPS. I get at-least 15 FPS1:Laptop2: i3, probably a mid ranged one too3: no mention of a GPU so I assume you don't have one.(iGPU) those are your problems. I have a similar laptop (by the sounds) and it gets similar FPS, you either buy something with a good GPU & CPU or you're stuck with 10-20fps. mronebadkid 2 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) But my Desktop doesn't even run it. It's a Desktop GateWay Intel Core I3 Inside HDMI Windows 8. Edited October 19, 2013 by MrONEBADKID
LiftCore 25 Posted October 19, 2013 There's not much you can do really, except for chuck everything on lowest settings, maybe click Force D3D 9 in Commander and don't play on high population, high loot or high vehicle spawn servers. That or invest in a new system. LiftCore 25 Posted October 19, 2013 So my Desktop has no possible way on running it? Knowing it's a Desktop..Is there some secret performance tip that you're expecting? DayZ as a mod already has graphics caps in place, aside from that, all you can do is go even lower in the game settings as I mentioned. You could try closing background programs, or opening up your PC graphics settings and doing something there. There's not much else that can be done man.

NagsterTheGangster 388 Posted October 19, 2013 Try downloading Ccleaner and running defrag. Lower settings too and take off shadows in game... hopefully that does you some good.
LiftCore 25 Posted October 19, 2013 Damn this sucks. Thanks for the help I'll try everything you just said. I wish there was more that could be done. It doesn't help that DayZ is a mod for one of the most shittily optimized games out there. Before I got my sweet new gaming rig, I used to play DayZ on minimum gfx/resolution, in super low population servers... and even then I goet around 15FPS. And I played like this for quite a few months.
TIC 1050 Posted October 20, 2013 Try playing on a lower resolution :) Sometimes that helps especially for the ones that don't have a graphics card. Also try going to your ARMA 2.cfg files in your Documents and set the GPU max frames and detected frames to
