Why I became a bandit

Recommended Posts

So first off, this was my first real time playing day z, so I was still learning controls. As usual, there were good guys and bad guys. The good guys wanted to help me, But I had to find them, So that was useless. I met another player, not really a bandit per say, but kind of in the middle. He picked me up in a boat and actually wanted to teach me how to play. I.E forcing me to pilot the helicopter (Bad idea, by the way). Anyways, he made sure I knew what I was doing and is able to deal with me. And we may have done some raiding/drive byes :).

i was thinking it may have been the 'he knew how to deal with me' part. Maybe some R rated tent action, he lost his self respect and humanity at the same time. ;)

So you became a bandit because some guy picked you up and he happened to be bandit-ish?

If i became the person who picked me up i would have become a 31 yo single mother when i was 18.

even after being fucked over numerous times,..I still resist the urge to become a complete dick. Love these folks that post, usually after one shit experience, "This is why I became a bandit", when really, it is the easy way out..Much harder having to hold your fire and not just waste everyone you see...IAm not saying "being a Hero type all the time" , I just mean You can still help other folks and not be a shoot on sight bastard. Its a lot more risky, and therefore exciting in my opinion, when the guy that is standing next you in the hospital, THAT you could have just wasted, may or may not turn out, to be a top bloke or a complete prat. The not knowing is part of the charm of Dayz. ((and as for the above situation, Though I would not shoot on sight as a rule, gone are the days where I would say, give a blood bag and be shot in the head during the animation. Experience is what keeps me alive now, NOT shooting on sight ;) ))
