Anywhere I go, I cannot place a tent

Even on totally flat ground, it tells me "The area needs to be flat and free of other objects."

I've tried it on multiple servers.

That's a pretty HUGE problem that needs to be hotfixed like, immediately.

A few of my buddies and I have so much stuff loading us down right now if we dont set up tents as a base and drop off we can't even really play.

You can still place tents, its just very buggy.

Find a place thats free of objects with ~3m, doesn't need to be completely flat. Go crouch, Double tap shift, open your inventory, and keep trying to pitch the tent while holding w(moving forward). Eventually you should begin the pitching animation. Make sure you close your inventory before it finishes, and a tent should appear. Being buggy as they are sometimes the tent will just disappear, and of course the server might just eat it the next restart, so make sure you save it every time you use it.

I've placed a few tents in the same locations where I have succesfully placed them before and even then it can be a challenge to find the right pixel to place them on but it can be done. I think most people are giving up too easily though.

The last tent I placed was in the same spot as I've used before, it took about 20 tries to get it down. Sure it sucks for now, but all I'm saying here is dont just try one time on a spot, try it, move a few inches, try it and repeat. Sooner or later you'll hit the sweet spot. Hell I've seen tents on 30 degree slopes before so its a matter of persistence.

If you give up easily, you would probably be better off waiting for a fix.
