DayZ mod API to retrieve player info?

Is there some way I can get player info like inventory from the official servers using serverside like python or with java? How exactly does it authenticate to grab my player file from the hive?  I imagine it's probably based on cdkey which would mean there's no way for me to get the data I'm after.

 

I was trying to come up with an easy way for the group of people I play with to share data on what gear they have over the web without logging into the game. 

 

Is there another way I could go about this that comes to mind or is everything official just kind of locked down?

Official is locked down but you could easily do this on a private hive with admin assistance. See website in my sig for example of stats. This could include gear if I wanted to do that.

The public hive is locked down, not least because the ability to interrogate it for player info could lead to unwanted revelations.

 

On private hives information retrieval is already possible.  Have a look at DayZcc for an example.
