Noob wants help.

Recommended Posts

Being the idiot I am I can't figure out how to join a server from Day Z Commander. What happens is when I double click on a server it launches Operation Arrowhead, starts to load the lobby screen then exits to the main menu. No idea what to do from here. Please help.

ive heard of this issue but dont know the direct fix.

as a simple troubleshoot, make sure that in the "install/updates" tab both the newest version of ArmA2 is installed and newest version of what ever mod your trying to play.

also id recommend ticking these options in the settings if you have arma 2 with steam:

p.s im sure amberhelios will come in here and save the day shortly if that doesnt work.

I have not a single clue as to what is going on honestly. I launched AO manually and clicked the boxes of the mods I have for it. Now it directs me to day z. Problem? Can't join any server. Keeps popping up with an error message saying to delete certain files. Something about a "Acceptable key". No clue what's going on. Pretty sure part of the problem was installing everything from Steam in the first place. Ugh. I'm guessing eventually I'll have to wipe everything related to arma and start over.

Go to Arma2OA folder in steam.

Remove all the files that is related to dayz.

Now go to dayz commander.

Reinstall only DayZ mod.

After that install the stable arma patch.

When it's done go to dayz commander settings and unbox everything. At the left click hide wrong arma/dayz versions.

Now try to enter a server.

If this doesn't work try to change the arma2,OA,dayz directorys in the commander. You can also try and run the BEsetup.

Ok, WTF. Literally. I don't know what the hell is going on. Friggin every time I try something new, other bullshit happens. I tried your steps, now I'm getting "Wrong CD key" error and even though all my versions are up to date it's only showing 5 servers all Origin servers that are compatible. Try to join them, and they send me to the main menu. Seriously WTF is going on.

Go into steam, and verify the integrity of you cache.

Delete your @DayZ folder and reinstall completely.

Reinstall the ArmA 2 Beta Patch.

After you verify the game you need to run both games with steam as admin to set the cd key in your registry

That only solves one of the laundry list of issues I have. Wrong CD Key seems to be a very small error since I'm back where I started and it continues with the error anyways

If you are back to square one of OP have you updated your BE filters manually yet to see if this fixes?

Download the Server and Client dll's here:

http://www.battleye.com/download.html

Place them into Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>arma 2 OA> BEsetup

launch the game and sit in a lobby watch the bottom left corner in red and wait for it to update then join.

I found that sometimes I had to manually load Arma and join a game for the BE to properly update itself - it didn't matter if I added the newest .dll files by hand it would NOT work - give that a try if you already haven't.

You need to do this:

1: install arma

2: install the expansions in order (not dayz)

3: start arma until you reach it's main menu then exit

4: start each expansion pack in order like step 3

5: install beta patch via steam and start like step 3 then exit

6: install dayz via steam

7: install dayz commander

8: update dayz and server type through dayz commander, like epoch for example.

9: find server to play on and enjoy.

Good info. In the works of trying this right now. But, could you explain please how to update Day Z and the server type through Commander?

that wrong key message is because you have other non dayz mods installed.....

1. launch arma2 OA

2. got to expansions tab

3. disable all mods (including dayz)

4. launch dayz commander

5. make sure latest version of dayz and beta patch are installd from install/update tab

6 . make sure your search filters are set correctly....eg. not hiding some servers and so on

now you should be good to go :)

That acceptable key thing is because all good community mods have whats called a bisighn.pbo....if the server dosent have the same file in its mod list it will bump you to the main menu with the message ;)
