Dayz Reducing the kill on sight for Standalone

Recommended Posts

Dear everyone of the DayZ community,

I would like to suggest a new way to at least reduce some of the killing on sight. I came up with this idea, yet I do not know if it has been suggested before. I thought it would be a good thing in DayZ standalone to implement a shock system. I don't know if its possible I'm not very technical because I only play the games I don't know the programming. But if you think about it I have heard if stories by ex convicts where they had been shocked when they caused a life to end. Maybe if this is implemented you get shock from killing someone until you do it so many times that the character is used to it. The shock could have some serious effects like for minutes after the kill your character could be using the new vomit animation uncontrollably, you may run slower, and your characters mental stability will not be at its fullest so he may run slower and take breaks due to shorter agility and once he is a bandit he will have blood an his skin and clothes. Maybe for a hero they will be happier, faster, and over all mentally stable.

I am open to all constructive criticism but please try not to be rude.

If

Anyone has information on anything like this tht is being out in the game already please inform me.

Sorry if my English is bad or spelling is wrong.

From what I've seen the general consensus here seems to be that people don't want to be punished for choosing a certain play style. As well, making people's characters suffer adverse effects seems to take the responsibility away from the human element... seems kind of forced.

I'm reading "Unrepentant Sinner", the memoirs of Col. Charles Askins, and he seemed to quite enjoy hunting and killing as many people as he could... kind of an asshole really. Not a man I would want to meet, but that's the kind of character some people want to role-play as -a cold-blooded killer.  Not a character who wrings his hands and mimics Herbert Morrison.

One major problem with this sort of idea is what happens when you are forced to kill because you are attacked ? what if you are set on by two or three other apocalyptic bad dudes..you take one out and then you cannot defend yourself against his brethern because you are too busy popping chunks all over the place :)

I guess your right, It would be wrong to take away a play style from some players but if it only happened the first few kills I think it wouldn't be so bad and those who are dedicated to killing on sight would myrtle through it. Anyway if it came out Erin I did not mean that the vomiting or agility lack would happen in moments when adrenaline is pumping. Like in real life say you being chased by a Rottweiler and you twist your ankle, your not going to stop runnin or climbing to sit down and be torn to shreds, are you? Maybe if it happened once or twice in moments that don't really matter like running up north or driving to a city as long as there's no need for adrenaline to be pumping. It's just a suggestion on how to reduce the amount because I've been killed many times and have killed many times. I would just like to experience some commercial DayZ where people ask if your friendly then help build a base like people upload on YouTube. Anyway I thought it was a smart idea.

Thankyou for your constructive criticism sir or

mam it was nice hearing your opinion.

Hetstaine (sorry if that's incorrect) I would hope that there would be a client or server side registration when shots are fired at or near you so that the effect would not come into affect
