Probably would help for you to post your specs for the computer wizards on here to help you more effectively.  The biggest problem with DayZ and Arma is that they are poorly optimized.  It takes a very good computer to run this game with good settings and high fps.  I don't know all the details to it, but there is so much stuff having to be processed and such in Arma that it takes a big toll on your computer.

I have a very good computer (but shitty internet) and my fps fluctuates betwee 15fps ad 40 on average. However, i've only played last night for the first time and again today.

It would help if both of you post your system specs and the graphics settings that you're playing on.

I get about 60-25 FPS on average with pretty good looking settings. I put shadows on High, Post process at low, memory at default, and everything else is Normal. the game looks good and I get great FPS. I have a 7870 and a 8320, so my PC is pretty mid end. If I had a better CPU I'd get better, but I'm pretty pleased with my current settings. You don't see that much difference with settings normal through very high until you turn up post Process.
